How Do I Apply Roundup® Weed & Grass Killer Products?

Using Roundup® Weed & Grass Killer products the right way ensures that they work as effectively and safely as possible.

STOPPING WEEDS IS SIMPLE: 3 THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

  1. Only kill what you want to control.

Make sure the plants you’re about to treat are the ones you don’t want because Roundup® Weed & Grass Killer products kill existing weeds and grasses to the root.

  2. Treat the right spots.

When using Roundup® Weed & Grass Killer products, be sure to treat the leaves of the plants, not the soil. This lets the product work its way down to the roots of the plant and stop it at the source. Remember — glyphosate, the primary active ingredient* in most of our products, won’t move through the soil to plants you want to keep.

  3. Store properly.

After using Roundup® Weed & Grass Killer products, store them in a dry area that’s not too hot and not too cold, as indicated on product labels.

Tip: Look for the bottle with the Sure Shot® Wand

We designed the Sure Shot® Wand to give you the confidence to target landscape weeds with ease. The extra-long arm extends a full 2 feet so you can apply the product point-blank with less bending over, and the clear dome shield helps ensure the plants you want to keep aren’t harmed.

  • Continuous battery-operated spray means no more pumping.
  • Extra-long 2-foot wand for improved reach.
  • Protective shield to contain the spray and help protect the nearby plants you love from damage.

WAIT FOR GOOD WEATHER (FOR BEST RESULTS)

When you apply Roundup® Weed & Grass Killer products is important. Waiting for a rain-free, calm day is key. This decreases the chance of rain washing away the product. Just remember to steer clear until the treated weeds are dry, so you don’t track the product onto plants you want to keep.

*Some Roundup® Weed & Grass Killer products contain additional active ingredients. See product labels for details.
